i card
My almost brother-in-law had his iPhone stolen at a concert a few weeks ago, so me and my other half decided for his Birthday card it'd be fitting to make a homage to to the phone he lost.

Christmas Card Commission
Back in November I undertook a commission for 45 bespoke Christmas cards, and as one of them has made a return journey 'back home' I think it's safe to share with you some photographs of my design. It was a different way of working than usual but I enjoyed it all the same, up until the use of the sewing machine (which I'm not always friends with!), but it was the prettiest method of attaching the verse sheet to the card. I do quite like doing large commissions, it pushes you to try different methods and techniques to meet the clients brief. Happy 14th Advent Day!

The Big Reveal...
I can finally show you all the Wedding Thank You card commission I
undertook over August and September. First here are the two other card
designs I came up with responding to ideas from the clients brief.
Tea cups, tea pots and tea bags were a running theme for the couple so for something more personal I came up with this final idea, which they went with. The forest green ribbon matched the colour of the bride's dress trimming and the groom's tie and handkerchief and the tea bag tag records the date of the wedding day. Original photo courtesy of William Garland (photoshopping by me!)
The client was very pleased with them and I hope the recipients like them too! I'd love to get some feedback if anybody is reading this! I really enjoyed it and would love to take on another commission one day soon!

Very Excited...
... to say that I have finished my wedding card comission and will be delivering all 80 cards to the client tomorrow evening! What an undertaking it was, but I have enjoyed every minute. I will post some pics in a few weeks time.
Meanwhile, I have been making a start on Christmas cards... which has completely confused me when asked what date it is! Here are a few sneak peeks, however I am still waiting on some embossing powder to finish the cards off; fingers crossed it arrives soon!

Super Huge Commissioned Card
... made for my almost brother-in-law. 21 hand drawn images (technically 2 are photographs) depicting the 21 things that we know and love about him! It's my first attempt at a big commissioned card, but this idea wouldn't have worked on anything smaller. I must say I'm really pleased with the outcome, it took the best part of 4 days!

Commissioned cards
I've been waiting for ages to be able to show you some commissions I made for Father's Day and a Thank You card too. The Father's Day cards are hand drawn and painted in watercolours and the Thank You card is hand cut appliqued fabric letters and hand painted dots. I loved these cards and thankfully so did the clients and recipients!

Commissions
I thought I would share with you some card commissions I have done recently for friends and family. I like the challenge it poses, trying to make them personal.

Finished Canvas

A Long Overdue Update...
I have neglected my blog over the last few months, however I have resumed my creativity and thought it was about time to share it.
I received a commission for a painted canvas, specifically for their music room with a guitar image and sunburst and using three colours of wood brown, white and black. I haven't painted for such a long time and, having started the piece, it has really made a change from my university style of work. This image is a second sketch idea of what I envision the final canvas to look like.
